After I started to use compiz with my linux box, Eagle Cad started to act strangley. It seamed like it was completely transparent as you can see in the following picture.

One solution to keep using Eagle was to stop compiz every time i wanted to work with the cad software. Not very elegant but it worked. But after some time i got tired to keep switching compiz on/of only for eagle so i decided to try something else. So after a lot of searches i found something that works very nice.
What you have to do is to launch this command 'export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1' before eagle . In my case i write a simple script that does just that, renamed it as 'eagle' and renamed eagle to 'eagle1' and voila Eagle Cad is working with compiz.
